About Persian
Persian, or Farsi, is spoken by more than 100 million people in Iran, Afghanistan (where it’s called Dari) and Tajikistan (Tajik). It’s written right to left in an alphabet adapted from Arabic, but it’s an Indo-European language, a distant cousin of English, with a friendly grammar: no grammatical gender and no articles like “the”.
