He plays an active role in the Vancouver Ethnic music scene, having been featured on many recordings and in many venues including International Drum Heat and the Vancouver International Folk Festival. He has toured internationally, performing and giving drum workshops. Both in concert and on recordings, Abdel has a unique gift for capturing the audiences' attention with his solo work.
